PALS Active Play in Hot Weather Supporting Outdoor Play in ECE Settings (FY26)

This training will help early childhood educators understand how heat affects young children and learn practical ways to keep outdoor play safe during hot weather.
Participants will explore heat-smart strategies, activity ideas, and schedule adjustments that support healthy, engaging play even on hot days.
Objectives:
1.Understand how heat affects young children's bodies.
2.Recognize strategies to reduce the impact of heat during outdoor play.
3.Identify two activities to do with young children during hot weather.
4.Explore how to adjust ECE schedules to keep outdoor play safe in hot weather.
